Rubber Ducky You're The One...

For the family party for Dylon, we had a Rubber Ducky tub cake, it was so much fun to make! My sister Rebecca always makes fun cakes for her kids so it inspired me to give it a try. This is how it turned out. (I know the frosting isn't perfectly smooth, but work with me!) Dwayne and I took Dylon shopping for his birthday presents. We let him choose one of them out, he got right in there and checked as many out as he could, but this one was the winner. Dylon really liked the toy store, this may be the only birthday he gets to come with us to the store to pick out his gift!

Cousin Days

For the past 5 months Dylon and I have been going over to my brother and sis-in-laws house to watch their kids on Mondays and Fridays. It has been such a good thing for Dylon. He has really gotten to know and love them. I has been especially fun the last little while since he has been able to interact with them more. Rachel and Sara crack him up. It is amazing how kids can make each other laugh so much. Lately he is always crawling off to the toy room to join them, or down the hall to their room. He is also very curious about his little cousin Brody. I have to watch him close or he will stick his hand in his mouth, finger in his eye or up his nose, or just hit him. I've been trying to teach him to be soft, but I don't think it is registering yet. Today I took them all outside so the girls could draw on the sidewalk. Dylon did other things with the chalk. Someday he'll learn right!?Rachel is the artist in the family...
Cute little Sara!I wanted Brody to be able to join us, so I brought him out in this!Dylon was having fun just taking all of the chalk out of the container.

I realized his binki was in so I took it out for some pics without it, only I didn't mean for the chalk to replace the binki! We'll have to make sure we visit alot so these two can cause some trouble together! Dylon caught in action, he just hit Brody. Naughty little boy!!

Dylon is ONE!!!

I can't believe that our little boy is already one year old! Where has the time gone? On Dylon's special day we didn't do a whole lot. I babysat my brothers kids that day, then Dylon and I came home Dwayne, Dylon and I just had dinner and then we gave Dylon his birthday cupcake. We stripped Dylon down to his diaper because we thought that he would make a huge mess, but it was just the opposite, he didn't seem to want to get messy. As you can see he was a little leery at the start. He kept trying to bend over to eat it from the top with just his mouth. I think he offered Dwayne more than he was eating. The last picture shows you about how dirty he got. Well, that was an easy clean!

Baby Animals

Dwayne and Dylon went up to Logan to go to the American Heritage Center's baby animal day with Dwayne's family. Dylon with his cousin AJ, Dylon wasn't too sure about the calf!
Grandma Gentry and Dylon, look at those cheeks!!

What is this animal?
He wasn't afraid of the pigs or snakes! Go figure!
He seemed to do okay with the Shetland pony, or maybe not!?
I would have loved to be there with them, but I went to Arizona to look for a place to live. My friend Michelle Meacham came with me and we stayed at her friend Karen's house. Much appreciated! Karen was able to show me around a little which was very nice. We had a good time just the four of us. Karen's little girl Alexis came along too. She is the most mellow 8 month old I have ever seen. Anyway, I didn't find anything at the time, but I feel there was good headway, now I know what areas to focus on.
By the way, I don't know if I have updated this little bit of info, we are no longer going to Glendale AZ, we are going to Mesa AZ. I know, quite the distance. Dwayne was accepted into A T Still University in Mesa, and that school won out in the end after looking at the pros and cons. I'm stoked , now we will be closer to the Mesa Temple. We do have to be down there earlier which means a longer summer. I don't know about the summer heat! I'm all for the no snow for a few years, but 120 degrees is HOT!!! It will be fun though hot whether and all. We are both excited and feel good about the change that is before us.

First Haircut

Dylon had his first haircut finally. It is amazing how attached you become to such little hair. Those of you who see us often know that his hair only grew in the middle - he had a permanent "faux hawk" as most people called it. A funny thing happened after he had his hair cut. Every Thursday a group of us in the court get together for a play date, it was at my house this week so alot of kids were there. One of the gals that lives by me came over to return some stuff and she asks, "who's kid are you holding". Now, she jokes around often so I thought at first that she was kidding, but I asked if she was serious and she says "yeah, who is that". I of course started laughing. Who knew that a hair cut could change him so much. I guess he was known for his mohawk, so I should have figured. Now everyone comments on his cheeks. Lucky him, he got those cheeks from his mom. People used to always pinch my cheeks and say that I looked just like a Cabbage Patch. (When I was little they they had just come out) He does look different though, he is no longer my baby, he looks like a toddler to me. How sad :(
